Pendleton Area Rescue Squad, Inc. was founded in 1971 by the town of Pendleton, it served as a volunteer ambulance and rescue service. Between 1999 and 2000, the service became contracted with Anderson County as one of the 8 current squads that compose the county Emergency Medical Service system. We primarily serve the town of Pendleton and surrounding areas within Anderson County. We serve a community of less than 25,000 with a service area of almost 97 square miles. Within our service area, we provide EMS to five public schools, and one college. We also serve five large industrial plants, several large hotels and restaurants and roughly ten miles of the heavily traveled Interstate 85. There are five local volunteer fire departments that are also ready and available to assist us should we need the additional resources. Pendleton Area Rescue Squad, Inc. strives to ensure that public health and safety is a top concern for those we proudly serve.
